Adhesion Promoting Coatings (Tiecoats)

Adhesion-promoting coatings are specialized coatings designed to enhance the bond between a topcoat and various substrates, such as plastics or metals, and between two layers of organic coatings. These coatings form a robust adhesion interface, improving the applied coatings' durability, impact resistance, and long-term weatherability. They also help mitigate adhesion issues caused by additives or surface contaminants and can be applied using various methods with flexible curing options, including thermal, UV, or ambient curing. 

• Forms an adhesion-promoting interface between the substrate (plastic or metal) and the coating 

• Forms an adhesion-promoting interface between two layers of organic coatings 

• Promotes adhesion to low-energy surfaces 

• Enhances impact resistance 

• Enhances long-term adhesion durability

• Allows lower cure temperatures for heat-cured coatings, such as polysiloxanes, without adversely affecting adhesion durability 

• Stabilizes adhesion issues caused by additives that migrate to the surface, such as internal mold release agents, UV absorbers, flow control agents, surfactants, colorants, antistatic agents, and fire retardants 

• Supplied at 3 to 15% solids in solvents, water, or a combination of solvents and water 

• Applied by dip, flow, spin, spray, and flow coating methods 

• Curing conditions: Thermal, UV, or ambient cure
